### Our most recent meeting

The last time Palace and Millwall faced off also came in the FA Cup, with the two sides drawn against one another in at the third round stage, back in 2022.

Unlike next week's meeting, that tie was played at Millwall's New Den stadium. Despite a partisan home crowd erupting after Benik Afobe put the hosts ahead, eventually Premier League class would shine through.

A lively affair would eventually turn into the Michael Olise show, the France winger spinning the game on its head, almost single-handedly, in only his third start for the Eagles.

His stunning curling effort levelled the tie with the second half only a minute old. That goal seemed to change the tide, with Palace enjoying their best spell of an end-to-end cup tie.

The Eagles would make pressure count just before the hour mark, Olise producing a wonderful cross that gave Jean-Philippe Mateta the chance to head home. Amid jubilant scenes in the away end, it would prove to be the winner, as Palace progressed into the fourth round.

### Historic meetings

The first clash of this South London rivalry came way back in 1921, Palace claiming the initial bragging rights with a 1-0 win away at the Old Den, in a Division Three (south) fixture.

A maiden FA Cup meeting between the two sides would take place the following year - Millwall winning a replay 2-0 after an initial draw. 

That actually started a bad run for Palace against the Lions, with our next win in the fixture not coming until a 5-3 FA Cup replay win in 1929, following five consecutive losses in league meetings.

Although the vast majority of previous meetings have come further down the pyramid, the two sides have also contested top-flight league fixtures, first doing so in the old First Division in 1989. 

The Eagles won one of the best games ever played between the two sides, with prolific attacking partnership Mark Bright and Ian Wright both grabbing braces in a 4-3 win at Selhurst Park, Brighty arrowing a shot into the top corner to complete a famous win. Palace actually did the double over Millwall that season, also winning 2-1 in the reverse fixture.

The rivals would regularly meet over the ten-year period from 2003-2013, save for Palace's 2004/05 Premier League campaign, in the Championship.

During this time Palace had a reasonable record at the Den, with a notable exception of the a nightmare visit on New Year's Day 2011.

Future Eagle Jason Puncheon would hit a stunning hat-trick, in one of only seven league games at Millwall on a short-term loan, a game that would also mark the end of George Burley's reign as Palace manager.

But that remains our most recent defeat in the fixture. The 2011/12 season saw a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park, before Palace won the reverse fixture thanks to a goal from Jermaine Easter.

The last league meetings came in the Eagles 2012/13 promotion campaign, with both matches finishing level - a 2-2 draw at Selhurst and a 0-0 stalemate at the Den.

The magic of the FA Cup draw has set-up an all South London clash in round five - with Palace set to host Millwall at Selhurst Park for the first time since October 2012. Here, we take a look at some memorable meetings between the two clubs from down the years...

We've Met Before: Previous meetings with Millwall 

Initially, only the Main Stand, Whitehorse Lane, and the Holmesdale Upper and Lower will be open to home fans. Season Ticket Holders in the Arthur Wait Stand were not  able to reserve their own seat on this occasion.

**There will therefore be a change in process for purchasing tickets for this game; supporters are urged to read the below information in full.**

- **Friday, 14th February - from 16:00 GMT via all methods:** Season Ticket Holders in the Main Stand, Whitehorse Lane and the Holmesdale Upper and Lower stands can purchase their own seat, which has been reserved for them.
  - *Reservations will be held **until 14:00 GMT on Monday, 17th February**. Between 14:00 and 15:00, the game will then be taken off-sale online, and purchases will only be available via the phone and in person.*
- **Monday, 17th February – from 15:00 via all methods:** Season Ticket Holders in the Arthur Wait Stand, and supporters affected in block 4 of the Whitehorse Lane end (please see 'Important Information' below), can purchase **1** ticket per person.
- **Tuesday, 18th February – from 12:00 online, and 16:00 via all methods:** All Season Ticket Holders who haven't already purchased can buy **1** ticket per person.
- **Thursday, 20th February – from 10:00 online, and 14:00 via all methods:** Paid Members can purchase up to 1 ticket per person.
- **Wednesday, 26th February – from 10:00 online, and 14:00 via all methods:** General sale to all supporters who have a client reference number, up to 1 ticket per person.

**All sales phases are subject to availability.**

**Please note that only CPFC accounts registered on, or before, Sunday 9th February will be eligible to purchase tickets.**

### Important Information

Initially only the Main Stand, Whitehorse Lane, and the Holmesdale Upper and Lower will be open to home fans.

Arthur Wait Season Ticket Holders **– and, due to security, supporters in block 4 of the White Horse Lane Stand, in seats 151 and higher –** will be able to purchase in the second sales phase.

Supporters looking to purchase their own seats can do so by:

2. Click the **‘My Account’ icon** in the top-right hand corner of the screen.
3. Click **‘Reserved Tickets’**.

5. Click **'Show Reserved Tickets'**, and then add the tickets you wish to purchase to your basket.
6. Click the **basket** in the top-right of the screen, and then follow the remaining on-screen instructions to checkout.

Season Ticket holders who wish to purchase their owns seats should note that they will be **unable to change the age band** of their usual ticket. For example, if your Season Ticket was purchased as an Adult, you can only purchase your Millwall FA Cup ticket as an Adult.

The fixture will be broadcast **live** in the United Kingdom on **BBC One.**

It will be the eighth time Palace have met Millwall in the FA Cup, with the Eagles winning the last meeting 2-1 at the Den in January 2022, when Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the winner.

Palace have overcome Stockport County and Doncaster Rovers to reach this stage of the competition, whilst Millwall have thus far beaten Dagenham & Redbridge and Leeds United.

The competition proper will be played without replays this season; should the match end in a draw, extra-time and penalties will determine who will advance.
