Frank De Boer has spoken of his confidence going into his third Premier League match as Crystal Palace boss.
The Eagles lost their opening two games but the Dutchman has said there were plenty of positives.
“Huddersfield Town at home you expect a minimum of a point of course,” he admitted.
“I think we showed different spirit, different composure against Liverpool.
“We could have at least got a point at Anfield, so I’m very pleased, of course not with the result but I’m convinced that if we continue with that concentration, that spirit, then the points will come.”
De Boer says his side are getting stronger and that he’s happy with the desire that the team has been showing.
“Every game you play in the Premier League, you’re getting strong.
“It always starts first with the mentality, with the hunger, the eagerness to win games, to play for the club, for yourself, for your teammates, that I saw against Liverpool and that’s always the first start.
“That always has to be in your bag when you come to a game, that’s always with you.”
De Boer went on to say that his intentions are always to win.
“Every game we start with a lot of confidence, with a lot of respect for the opponent.
“We know their weaknesses but we also know the strengths of the opponent, and then maybe some small technical improvement to hurt them, and then again to be aware of the dangers.
“But I go and the team goes for three points normally, and that’s what we’re aiming for.”
However, he insisted that implementing his ideas for a winning formula can take time.
“It’s very hard in football because you don’t get that time, and that’s why it’s normally crucial to get your first points.
“I still think that everybody has to understand if you are were already struggling a little bit last season, then of course we did quite well.
“You want a different manager because you want a different style of play, that takes time, sometimes after a few weeks you will see the result."
