Speaking post-match after a disappointing start to the Eagles' Premier League away form, Dann discussed where he felt the team struggled against the Blades: "It’s hard to put one finger [on what went wrong]. It was a disappointing display. We never really looked like scoring, that was the biggest part of the defeat, I think.
"Going a goal behind in the second-half, we said at half-time, the first-half was tight, there wasn’t too much in it: we had a bit more of the possession and were controlling most of the first-half.
"They hit us on the break a couple of times and that was one of the things we said at half-time: make sure we start the second-half the way we started the first. Unfortunately it’s cost us.
"We conceded after two minutes and found it hard to get back into the game. We just didn’t create enough as a team and get anywhere near enough chances on their goal."
Palace's away form last season was the sixth best in the Premier League, with just five of the top six bettering the Eagles' form on the road. However, Dann spoke post-match about the difficulty in comparing across two seasons as well as discussing Bramall Lane:
“This is obviously our first away game of the season, so it is hard to compare it to last season. Our better performances as such, were away from home last season and we were scoring quite a few goals.
“Today we didn’t really threaten their goalkeeper at all and you go a goal behind away from home and you struggle to get back in the game.
“There’s no excuses for the way the game panned out today, they never had many chances either. But we probably didn’t deserve to win the game; we knew the atmosphere was going to be lively today but we are in the Premier League and it’s not just here that happens; we were ready for it and we needed to be ready for it.
"It won’t be an easy place to come but I think today, if we had that little bit more quality in our performance I think we would’ve got a good result."
