Looking over his league debut, the Spanish 'keeper said, "The game was important for me and the help from the group is important as well. Today we won, we're happy, all the players are happy. Three more points from my first game makes me happy."
It was a moment of magic that secured the win for Palace and Guaita reflected on the strike from captain Luka Milivojevic from his view at the other end of the pitch.
"Luka's goal was very good," he remarked. "Luka is a good midfielder, and his goal was important for the Eagles! It's an important three points. The mentality now has to be about the next win."
The highlight of the game for Guaita though was almost equally dramatic, as the Palace 'keeper produced a stunning save to tip the ball onto his post before scooping the rebound up with relief.
"I was happy when the ball hit the post because the save is important for a clean sheet. That's important for the season. My teammates Wayne and Julian [Speroni] work and help me in training and so does Dean [Kiely]."
And finally, concluding his interview, Guaita found a moment to reflect on the Great British weather as Selhurst Park hit a chilly 4 degrees during the match. "The weather today is very, very cold! In England, the sun is important!"
