Steve Parish officially opened the club’s new Fanzone before Saturday’s opening Premier League fixture, and the venue will be open for all match ticket holders on a first come, first served basis at each home game this season.
Opening three hours prior to kick-off the Fanzone is located outside Selhurst Park’s Main Stand reception with a capacity of 500 and the area gives fans of all ages the perfect venue to further enhance their matchday experience.
The Chairman was delighted to see his plans become a reality as he met fans at the opening. "We had the vision for this Fanzone when we first took the club over and it is brilliant to see so many fans in here. We did try to do this last season but I wasn’t happy with the plans so we made some changes and I hope it proves a great facility for you all on matchday.
"We will continue to look at different ways of improving what we have here already and will listen to feedback so please let us have your comments and we will attempt to make any additions as the season goes on."
Inside the Fanzone fans can enjoy drinks (soft and alcoholic) and food, including an open-air BBQ as well as a large seating area in front of the main stage and big screen.
Before home games, there are plans to showcase local talent with live acts taking to the stage and there will also be appearances from the Crystals and Palace mascots, Pete and Alice.
For the younger fans there is a chance for them to enjoy a ‘Fastest Shot’ machine, EA game station, and a Class Room area with a range of activities to take part in, and chances to win Palace prizes.
Please note the Fanzone will close shortly before kick-off on every matchday and re-open for an hour after the game. There will be no alcohol for sale after the game due to licensing restrictions.
