The Senegalese midfielder comes into the side in place of the attacker, while Wilfried Zaha has been deemed fit to start the game in attack after shrugging off a groin strain picked up on international duty last week.
As well as Zaha, the Eagles' striking options have been boosted with the news that Connor Wickham has been named on the bench as he hopes to play in the Premier League for the first time in 23 months following a serious knee injury in November 2016.
Everton meanwhile have made two changes to their side that beat Leicester City 2-1 15 days ago, with summer signing Andre Gomes making his debut.
The Portuguese international replaces Tom Davies in central midfield, while Seamus Coleman returns in place of Jonjoe Kenny. Another summer arrival, Yerry Mina, is included amongst the substitutes for the first time.
Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Gomes, Gueye, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison. Subs: Stekelenburg, Baines, Mina, Davies, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, Tosun.
