Academy left-back Vonnte Williams' goal against rivals Brighton & Hove Albion in the Under-18 Premier League Cup has been voted Palace's September Goal of the Month.
Palace's first game of the tournament saw them blow away rivals Brighton with a 3-0 victory. Williams followed a first-half brace from Adler Nascimento with a fantastic solo effort.
After picking up the ball near the halfway line, he went on a surging run and skipped past four Brighton defenders before striking past the 'keeper with a strong left-footed shot. Describing his goal, Williams said: "I got the ball, it was the 80th minute, everyone was tired and I just had a burst of energy. I got the ball and saw loads of space, ran through and didn't stop."
His effort won 50.6% of the vote, beating John-Kymani Gordon's volley against Paris Saint-Germain (17.8%) and David Ozoh's strike against Chelsea (13.3%) which finished second and third respectively.
