Palace are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after getting their campaign underway with a 1-0 victory over Stockport County at Selhurst Park - here are five of our favourite things from the win!
Centre-back Chadi Riad made his return to the starting XI for the first time since sustaining a knee injury back in August 2024.
It was a welcome sight to see the summer signing back in action in front of the Selhurst faithful, as he played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet along the way.
Goalkeeper Matt Turner had made his debut between the sticks for the side away at Villa Park back in October, but his outing against Stockport was his first in SE25.
The deadline day loanee had previously featured at Selhurst Park with his parent club Nottingham Forest in the season prior, but as he mentions in his interview - he ‘much preferred being here and being on the home side!’
For the first time ever, the side wore a new font for the names and numbers on the back of their shirts, titled ‘PALACE’.
Whilst in Premier League matches, all clubs must use a universal font, they have the option to alter their shirts' lettering and numbers in Cup competitions. So far, so good for the new design!

Of course, we can't talk about the game without talking about the moment of brilliance from Ebere Eze that secured the victory early on.

Credit where credit is due for Stockport - their players gave it their all on the pitch and their fans were in full voice throughout.
What you may not have noticed is that former Palace defender Clint Hill was in the Stockport dugout! He has been assistant manager to Dave Challinor since 2021 and helped the side to promotion to League One last season.
Whenever we talk about Hill, we have got to mention Survival Sunday back in 2010 and his heroics during that season. Of course, any mention of Stockport rings the tune of a different sound of survival, back in 2001…
