Ebere Eze says Roy Hodgson’s detailed instructions at half-time allowed Crystal Palace to produce one of their best Premier League performances at Elland Road, as they equalled their biggest-ever away win.
“A lot of information was given at half-time,” Eze told Palace TV after the game. “Making runs in behind, having more energy and winning the second ball. We took on the information well and it worked for us today.
“[Sam Johnstone] had a great day today. You can see how good he is, the level he has played at and he is a top ‘keeper.
“I know when [Michael Olise] has the ball at his feet he can pick out passes and make things happen. I got myself in a good position and he found me today.”
Eze says he is enjoying playing under Roy Hodgson in a central position – his performances catching the eye as far as New York where a member of the Saturday Night Live cast sported an Eze shirt on stage.
“I’m enjoying it – I'm still learning and still growing into the role,” he said. “I have still got loads of improvement to go, especially defensively and things around me but I'm enjoying it and I hope it continues.
“That is my cousing [on SNL]! It’s quite cool that she is doing that on stage as well. She came down to London and I gave her the shirt.”
