Roy Hodgson's team have won three of their four games on their travels so far this season, including the 1-0 win at Swansea City that set up this meeting that sees the Palace manager once again face off against a former side.
Albion secured their place in the hat for round three after home wins over Luton Town and Mansfield Town, and the Championship's top scorers will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of victories in the competition.
Albion's home form helping solid start
Since falling to defeat in their final Premier League game against the Eagles, Darren Moore has regrouped his troops and the Baggies now sit third in the table on 17 points from their first nine matches, with early pace-setters Leeds United and Middlesbrough just a point better off.
Saturday saw them beat south London opposition as Millwall were sent packing from the Midlands pointless after goals from Dwight Gayle and Kieran Gibbs sealed a 2-0 win. Albion have now won six consecutive matches at The Hawthorns, with a win over Palace equalling their best run on their own patch since 2010.
Ex-Eagle Gayle has scored five times already this season since joining on a season-long loan deal from Newcastle United. He has scored in all five of his home games for the Baggies so far, and even netted at the venue for Palace in an FA Cup tie back in 2013/14.

West Brom: James Morrison could feature having missed the last few weeks with a leg injury, but played for Albion's development side on Friday.
Jonathan Leko is pushing for a start despite not playing a league game this season, but did score in the previous round against Mansfield.
Palace: Hodgson is keeping an eye on the availability of Scott Dann, who is close to a return from a knee injury that has kept him out of action since New Year's Eve.
Pape Souare could also be in contention for some action after joining in with training again last week.
Matchday officials
The referee for Tuesday's game is Peter Bankes. Paul Hodgkinson and Mark Dwyer will be his assistants, with Stephen Martin as fourth official.
Bankes has already shown 44 yellows this season and one red card from the nine games he has overseen.
