Arthur excited for Sutton return in Cup

Chloe Arthur is excited for the challenge of facing Chatham Town in the third round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday afternoon (KO 13:00 GMT).

The Eagles welcome third-tier Chatham to Sutton – their first fixture at the VBS Community Stadium in two-and-a-half weeks – to kickstart their 23/24 Cup journey.

And midfielder Arthur expects another brilliant backing for the team on a day out which promises to offer great fun – and football – for the whole family (turnstiles open at 12:00 GMT, with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy).

The game will also be broadcast LIVE and FREE on Palace TV!

The Cup tie will also see Palace wear the club's new limited-edition fourth shirt for the very first time.

Arthur said: “Everyone enjoys being at home and we’ve made Sutton feel like home to us. It’s a new pitch this year but we all enjoy playing there, so it’ll be a good game.

“The fans have been amazing all year around and being at Sutton, it’s easier for them to access. The crowd goes every week and they play a massive part. We’re looking forward to seeing them – they always make time for us and we’ll always make time for them.

“I think that is one of the reasons we enjoy playing at Sutton. We’ve performed really well and got loads of goals, so ending the year there with a win would be really important before our last away game [against Reading], so we’re all looking forward to it.”

Arthur believes Palace have made good use of the winter international break, adding: “When the girls went away on international break, we all worked really hard, and when they came back we just bring everything together.

“We’re set to go. Everyone knows their roles and responsibilities for the weekend so we feel good.

“I think no matter what team it is we’re facing, we have to prepare well, go out there, be professional and get the job done.

“It will be interesting. It’s not an opponent we’ve faced before so you never know what will happen, especially in a Cup game.”
