Key dates as Palace prepare for debut WSL campaign

Crystal Palace’s Women’s Super League debut moved one step closer as the 2024/25 fixtures were revealed – so here are the key fixtures to look out for, as well as some key features of our first WSL campaign…

Dates for the diary…

With the Olympic Games in Paris meaning an extended summer break, the 2024/25 season gets started on Sunday, 22nd September, as the Eagles travel north of the river to take on Tottenham Hotspur.

The following weekend sees Palace’s first-ever home fixture in the top-flight, and it’s a big one: taking on Chelsea, title-winners in the last five seasons, live on Sky Sports (Friday, 27th September, 19:30 BST).

The League Cup group stages begin in early October, with details of the FA Cup still to be confirmed.

The final day will be a tense affair: Palace travel to the North West to take on title contenders Manchester City on Sunday, 11th May.

A winter break

Remember, there will be a winter break to split up the league season.

Palace will play their final game of the first half of the campaign on Sunday, 15th December, and it’s another big one: hosting Manchester United in South London.

Then, 2025 gets off to a bumper start, returning to action with a trip to Arsenal on Sunday, 19th January, with the League Cup quarter-finals coming just a week later.

On the biggest stages

The release of the fixture list will ramp up the excitement to new levels, with mouthwatering ties galore across the season.

The Eagles will face Manchester United and Manchester City, both of whom have finished in the top-three in recent seasons – and who have played games at Old Trafford and the Etihad.

While venues are still to be confirmed, Palace travel to United on Sunday, 16th February, while they head to City on the final day: Sunday, 11th May.

Man City travel to south London on Sunday, 3rd November, while Man Utd make the trip down south on Sunday, 15th December

But there’s more…

London-derbies galore

Palace pushed serial champions Chelsea all the way in the FA Cup this season, falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat – but there will be a chance for revenge in the coming campaign, with the Eagles heading across London to face the Blues on Sunday, 20th April, having welcomed them to South London on the second weekend of the season.

The Eagles will also head to face Arsenal – potentially at a sell-out Emirates Stadium in front of 60,000 fans – on Sunday, 19th January, Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day and West Ham United on Sunday, 8th December, with a series of fiery London-derbies set to create a fantastic atmosphere week after week.

Prepare for fireworks, and for more bragging rights going up for grabs…
