After initially signing a three-and-a-half year deal with the Eagles in January 2022, Luke Plange returned to south London after a loan spell with his former club Derby County.
Plange signed for Palace after making his professional debut in December 2021 against Bristol City. He then started his first game in the next fixture and scored the only goal in a win against Blackpool.
He came through the ranks with Arsenal’s Academy, and had made 26 senior appearances in his career prior to wearing the red and blue, being nominated for December’s PFA Championship Player of the Month.
On signing for the club, he told Palace TV: “I'm very excited to be joining a big Premier League club. I'm ready to crack on. Obviously I’ll be with Derby, fighting for them in the Championship at the moment, but I will be ready to go back to Crystal Palace in the summer and get ready to go.”
The forward returned to the club and hit the ground running in 2022/23 pre-season, scoring a hat-trick against Ipswich Town. He moved to RWD Molenbeek in Belgium on in August 2022 before making another loan move to Lincoln City in January 2023.
Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Plange moved to Carlisle United on a six-month loan deal. He made 26 appearances on loan for the Cumbrians, scoring twice.
On his return to south London following his loan spell, Plange scored the equaliser in the Under-21s' 1-1 draw with Feyenoord in January 2024, sending them through to the quarter-final of the Premier League International Cup.
Plange then went on to score the winning goal against Ipswich Town U21s in February 2024, sending the side through to the Premier League Cup last 16.
The forward then moved on loan to HJK Helsinki in March 2024 ahead of the Veikkausliiga season - which runs from April to September. Plange made 36 appearances for HJK, scoring seven times and notching two assists.
